A Reddit user unearthed a game-breaking bug in Marvel Rivals that disproportionately affects players with less powerful computers. Low FPS (frames per second) directly impacts several heroes, causing them to move slower and inflict less damage. Given Marvel Rivals' demanding system requirements, this effectively transforms the game into a pay-to-win scenario, where the cost of victory isn't in-game purchases, but rather upgrades to PC hardware.
This is clearly a significant bug, not an intended game mechanic. However, a swift resolution isn't likely. The underlying problem stems from the Delta Time parameter – a crucial element enabling consistent gameplay regardless of frame rate. Addressing this deeply embedded feature will require considerable developer time and effort.
The following heroes are currently known to be affected:
These characters exhibit reduced movement speed, lower jump heights, and diminished damage output. Additional heroes may also be impacted. Until a fix is implemented, the best workaround is to optimize your FPS, potentially by reducing graphical settings.
