inZOI, the new life simulation game from Krafton, has achieved a remarkable feat by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its Early Access launch on Steam. This milestone marks the fastest sales record for any game published by the South Korean giant, showcasing the immense popularity and interest in Krafton's latest venture.
Launched on March 28, inZOI quickly captured the gaming community's attention, not only for its engaging gameplay but also due to a controversial feature that allowed players to harm children within the game. Krafton swiftly addressed this issue, labeling it as an "unintended bug" and promptly issuing a patch to rectify the situation.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. The game also made waves on Twitch, achieving a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers and securing the third spot in the Games category. Remarkably, it soared to the top of Steam's Global Top Sellers List, based on sales revenue, just 40 minutes after its release.
The in-game user-generated content (UGC) platform, Canvas, also saw a massive turnout, with over 1.2 million participants on launch day and more than 470,000 pieces of content uploaded, highlighting the community's creativity and engagement.
IGN's Early Access review of inZOI scored it a 6/10, praising its visually striking design and ambitious scope but noting a lack of depth at this stage of development.
Krafton attributes inZOI's success to its strategic pre-launch promotion and ongoing communication with the community, which have helped build trust and momentum. The inZOI global showcase and demo build were particularly effective in generating high interest.
CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about presenting inZOI to players worldwide through Early Access, emphasizing Krafton's commitment to continuous player engagement and the game's development as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to roll out future updates that will include new content such as mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided free of charge until the game's full release.
In response to player feedback and reported issues, Krafton has committed to applying quick fixes through hotfixes throughout April. Acknowledging the scale of inZOI's global community, Krafton described the experience as "next-level" and admitted to navigating through some trial and error in optimizing their communication strategies.
