Marvel Rivals Improves Launch Speed with Shader Compilation Optimization

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to this frustrating issue, significantly reducing load times.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game launches, particularly online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals PC players are encountering unusually long shader compilation times, sometimes lasting several minutes. Shaders are crucial programs managing visual elements like color and lighting in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems.

A community-discovered workaround effectively addresses this issue:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to the global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
  3. Set a Lower Value: Set the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. The available options are limited (5GB, 10GB, 100GB), so select the closest appropriate value to your VRAM capacity.

This method has reportedly reduced shader compilation time to mere seconds and resolved "Out of VRAM memory" errors for many users.

While a permanent fix from NetEase is awaited, this solution provides a practical workaround to avoid lengthy load times.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
