Josef Fares, the creative mind behind Hazelight Studios, recently shed light on the much-anticipated game, Split Fiction, during an insightful interview. Fares reiterated the studio's steadfast commitment to steering clear of live-service models and microtransactions, emphasizing their dedication to crafting unparalleled gaming experiences. He firmly stated, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
In his conversation with MinnMax, Fares revealed that the central storyline of Split Fiction is expected to last between 12 to 14 hours, a duration that mirrors the acclaimed It Takes Two. For those eager to dive deeper, the inclusion of optional missions and additional content could extend the gameplay to 16-17 hours, offering a rich and immersive experience.
While Hazelight is renowned for its cooperative gameplay, Fares hinted at the potential exploration of single-player titles in the future, showcasing the studio's willingness to innovate. He also disclosed that the budget for Split Fiction is double that of It Takes Two, yet Hazelight remains resolute in their decision to forgo post-launch DLC, ensuring that all features are available to players right from the start.
Mark your calendars, as Split Fiction is set to launch globally on March 6th, available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This release promises to be another testament to Hazelight's commitment to delivering high-quality, complete gaming experiences without the need for additional purchases or ongoing services.
