MGS Delta: Snake Eater Reveals Opening Movie

by Christopher Dec 31,2025

As we edge closer to the August launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has unveiled the stealth title’s opening cinematic.

While there are slight variations, the sequence will feel immediately recognizable to fans of the classic—from the newspapers flashing on screen to the James Bond-inspired theme song, once again performed by original vocalist Cynthia Harrell.

The footage previews several in-game moments—naturally without context—including Snake backflipping off a waterfall like an Olympic diver and Snake the Snake Eater, well, eating a snake. So that’s a pleasant touch.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Konami’s 2004 action-espionage game of the same name, minus the "Delta" suffix. The publisher recently confirmed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will arrive on August 28th, and announced that the Snake vs. Monkey minigame is also returning. It will also retain the suggestive and mature elements from Metal Gear Solid 3, such as the Peep Demo Theatre, according to an age classification report.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta appears more like a polished HD remaster than the sophisticated remake it might have been," IGN noted in our Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, which explores Snake’s new first-person viewpoint. "It’s undeniably a gorgeous nostalgia trip, yet perhaps overly faithful." We originally awarded Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater an outstanding 9.6.
