Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

Sony and Firewalk Studios' highly anticipated hero shooter, Concord, arrives on August 23rd for PS5 and PC. Following a successful open beta, the developers have unveiled an ambitious post-launch content roadmap, promising a continuous stream of updates starting on day one.

No Battle Pass Required

Unlike many competitors, Concord eschews the traditional battle pass system. Firewalk Studios prioritizes a rewarding core experience, where progression through gameplay unlocks meaningful rewards. This focus ensures players receive substantial value without needing to purchase a battle pass.

Season 1: The Tempest – Arriving in October

Season 1, titled "The Tempest," will introduce a wealth of new content, including:

  • A new playable Freegunner character.
  • A brand-new map.
  • Additional Freegunner Variants.
  • Expanded cosmetics and rewards.
  • Weekly Cinematic Vignettes enriching the Northstar crew's story.

An in-game store will also launch with Season 1, offering purely cosmetic items that don't affect gameplay balance.

Season 2 and Beyond

Season 2 is already planned for January 2025, demonstrating Firewalk Studios' commitment to consistent seasonal updates throughout Concord's first year.

Mastering Concord: Team Building and Gameplay Strategies

Concord Season 1 Launches October 2024

Concord's unique "Crew Builder" system allows for strategic team composition. While each Custom Crew consists of five Freegunners, players can use up to three copies of any Variant. This flexibility encourages diverse team builds and unlocks Crew Bonuses that enhance gameplay through increased mobility, reduced cooldowns, and more.

Unlike traditional shooter roles, Concord's Freegunners prioritize high DPS and effectiveness in direct combat. Instead of Tank or Support roles, six distinct roles—Anchor, Breacher, Haunt, Ranger, Tactician, and Warden—define Freegunner impact, influencing area control, long-range engagements, and flanking maneuvers.
