Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly with Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but now, with the introduction of Elemental Effects and new Echo sets, direct elemental interactions are possible. This guide details these changes.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

While elements like Glacio (freezing) existed earlier, Version 2.0 introduces unique status effects for all six elements, applied through specific attacks. These often function as damage over time (DoT) effects. Dodging removes stacks.

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe	Reduces movement speed; effect intensifies with stacks; 10 stacks freeze the resonator. Players can "Struggle" to thaw faster.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks decrease over time, dealing Spectro DMG; more stacks = more damage.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10; at 10 stacks, explodes, dealing Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't decrease with damage. More stacks = more damage.
Electro Flare	Reduces ATK based on stacks (1-4: -5%, 5-9: -7% + Magnetized effect, 10: -10%).

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, Elemental Effects are utilized by limited Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets.

Only Spectro Rover, post-Version 2.0 rework, can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill's Resonating Spin variant applies Spectro Frazzle stacks and a Shimmer effect preventing stack decay, maximizing the effect's duration and enabling consistent buff application.

Echoes and Echo Sets:

Echo Set Image

Currently, only the Eternal Radiance Echo set benefits from Elemental Effects, particularly Spectro Frazzle, boosting Spectro Rover's damage and critical rate. The Nightmare Echo further enhances damage against enemies affected by Spectro Frazzle. These remain Spectro Rover-specific.
