Prepare for Epic: 'Blood of Dawnwalker' Aims High, Targeting Witcher 3's Level

Rebel Wolves, a studio comprised of former developers from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, has announced their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker. While not aiming for a full-scale AAA experience, the team's ambitions are considerable.

Studio founder Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz stated their goal is to achieve Witcher 3-level quality, albeit on a smaller scale:

“We aim for AAA quality, akin to The Witcher 3—it's in our DNA. However, as a small studio launching our first project, we're crafting something more concise yet equally refined.”

The estimated playtime is 30-40 hours:

“Comparing anything to The Witcher 3, designed for 100+ hours but often exceeding 200-300, is ambitious. But is sheer size the defining factor of AAA? Call of Duty is AAA without an extensive campaign. Therefore, is scale truly relevant?”

Tomaszkiewicz further downplayed the significance of industry classifications like "AAA" and "AAAA," deeming them largely irrelevant.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an action RPG centered around a half-vampire with a 30-day/30-night deadline to rescue his loved ones. Despite the time constraint, the developers promise a streamlined and engaging experience. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it's slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with the release date yet to be announced.
