Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live stream on the Oscars YouTube channel. Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, is a major contender, vying for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón).

Wicked and The Brutalist closely follow with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown earned eight.
