Monster Hunter Wilds Patch 1.011 Notes Out May 28

by Leo Nov 27,2025

Monster Hunter Wilds director Yuya Tokuda has unveiled exciting details about the upcoming May 28 Version 1.011 update, featuring major content additions and gameplay refinements - including a special Street Fighter 6 crossover event.

In his latest Director's Letter, Tokuda explained the team's goal is "to deliver substantial new content while implementing balancing improvements to enhance the Monster Hunter Wilds experience." The highlight is Street Fighter's iconic Akuma joining the hunt, bringing his signature armored set and layered armor. Equipping either unlocks three special combat items: Assisted Combo Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken (detailed descriptions available on the official Monster Hunter website).

Version 1.011 introduces formidable eight-star tempered variants of Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad - accessible at Hunter Rank 41+. These enhanced monsters boast greater resilience with boosted health pools, improved wound resistance, and adjusted multiplayer scaling. Tokuda specifically warns that Tempered Gore Magala presents "an extreme challenge surpassing Arkveld." Higher-rank hunters can anticipate more frequent appearances of high-difficulty multi-monster quests.

A comprehensive weapon balance update arrives addressing the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, and Bowguns. Gunlance Artian weapons receive specific enhancements, while Hammer and Dual Blades gain additional refinements.

Quality-of-life improvements include streamlined notifications prioritizing critical targets, removal of full-inventory confirmation popups, extended meal effect timers (showing countdowns 10 minutes pre-expiration), and camp restoration when resting at hubs. An ecological showcase now displays captured endemic life details including sizes and patterns - with favoriting capability preserving special specimens beyond storage limits.

The update also brings stability optimizations (particularly Steam version) and enhanced eight-star investigation rewards. Guild Point fishing payouts undergo rebalancing (specifics pending).

As Capcom's newest flagship Monster Hunter title, Wilds delivers evolving ecosystems showcasing both desolate wastelands and thriving habitats. In our 8/10 review, we praised its refined combat while noting diminished difficulty: "Monster Hunter Wilds smartly polishes the series' rough edges, delivering exhilarating combat that occasionally lacks challenge."
