MageTrain is poised to revolutionize the classic Snake gameplay with its launch next month on virtual storefronts. Developed by Tidepool Games, this free-to-play mobile roguelike masterfully blends auto-battler mechanics with strategic positioning, creating a game that's simple to dive into yet brimming with complexity. Pre-orders are now open on both iOS and Android platforms, inviting players to join the adventure.
Drawing inspiration from Nimble Quest, MageTrain expands on the concept of leading a chain of heroes. This time, you'll guide a magical train of warriors through arenas teeming with enemies. The key to success lies in the careful placement of each hero to maximize their attack potential while steering clear of fatal collisions.
At launch, players can unlock nine heroes, each boasting unique abilities that vary depending on their position within the train. Some heroes are natural leaders at the front, whereas others offer crucial support from the back. Your journey will take you through eight dungeons, facing off against 28 different enemy types, and you'll have the chance to experiment with 30 different skills to forge powerful team synergies.
The game adopts a roguelike format with a path-based system reminiscent of Slay the Spire and FTL. Each run offers randomized challenges, enabling you to gather gold, power-ups, and upgrades that tailor your strategy. Every defeat is a lesson, refining your tactics and making each new attempt a fresh adventure.

Strategic positioning is crucial in MageTrain. As your heroes auto-attack, your task is to navigate the ever-growing train to avoid dangers and perfect your battle formations. The longer your run, the more powerful your heroes become, but one wrong move can end your journey prematurely.
