The leak comes shortly before Assassin's Creed Shadows' revised launch date of March 20, 2025, following a delay from its initial 2024 release window. IGN recently spoke with game director Charles Benoit, who explained the delay was primarily for polishing and minor adjustments. He highlighted refinements to progression systems and balancing, but emphasized the significant focus on improving the parkour system, particularly to address the challenges presented by Feudal Japan's unique architecture. Benoit stated that the complexity of Japanese rooftops required specific coding and animations to maintain fluidity in the parkour mechanics.
