Get ready, Pokémon GO trainers! January's first week is almost over, and the next Spotlight Hour event is just around the corner – this Tuesday! With so many exciting events already underway, now's the time to stock up on Poké Balls and Berries.
Pokémon GO consistently delivers thrilling events, including Max Mondays, Community Days, and the weekly Spotlight Hours, each featuring a specific Pokémon with a chance to snag a Shiny. Here's the lowdown on the upcoming event.
Mark your calendars! The Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour takes place Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. This week's stars are Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, offering a double opportunity to catch Shiny versions. Both Pokémon are valuable additions to your team, providing a significant damage boost when needed.
With two Pokémon in the spotlight, prepare for a busy hour! Stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense to maximize your chances of catching both and increasing your odds of finding a Shiny. Also, ensure you have plenty of storage space; you'll be catching a lot!
Voltorb (#100 in the Kanto Pokédex) is an Electric-type Pokémon. It evolves into Electrode using 50 candies, rewards 3 candies and 100 Stardust upon capture, and boasts a max CP of 1141. Its strengths include 109 Attack and 111 Defense, making it a potent attacker. However, remember its Electric-type weakness to Ground-type attacks (160% damage), and its resistances to Electric, Flying, and Steel-type moves (63% damage). The optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge, delivering 5.81 DPS and 40.62 TDO, further enhanced by rainy weather. A blue Shiny Voltorb awaits discovery.
Hisuian Voltorb (#100 in the Hisui Pokédex) is another Electric-type Pokémon from the Voltorb family. Similar to Voltorb, it evolves into Hisuian Electrode with 50 candies, rewards 3 candies and 100 Stardust, and has a max CP of 1141 (111 Defense, 109 Attack). While sharing the Electric-type, its strengths and weaknesses differ slightly. It takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves (160% damage), and reduced damage from Grass, Steel, and Water-type moves (63% damage), and other Electric-type moves (39% damage). Its best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt, yielding 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO, boosted by partly cloudy and rainy weather. The Shiny Hisuian Voltorb sports a black body instead of orange.
