Tribe Nine Reveals EOS Plan Shortly After Global Launch

Akatsuki Games has announced the end of service for their latest title, Tribe Nine—a game that launched just months ago on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam in February. Despite its promising premise as a free-to-play extreme action RPG with a bold aesthetic and immersive worldbuilding, the studio has confirmed it will cease operations on November 27th, 2025.

Alongside the shutdown announcement, Akatsuki revealed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released, cutting the narrative short just as major plot threads were beginning to unfold. This comes as a major disappointment to fans who were eagerly anticipating the next phase of the game’s storyline.

As of May 15th, 2025, all future updates, bug fixes, new features, and content drops have been officially cancelled. This includes previously teased in-game adjustments and planned additions. Additionally, two highly anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will no longer be added to the roster.

Players who spent real money on Paid Enigma Entities—used for purchases like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio—will receive refunds. These will be processed automatically after the Revenio contract period ends.

Furthermore, the purchase of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes is now disabled across both the mobile app and web store. However, players can continue using any existing Enigma Entities in their inventory until the game fully shuts down on November 27th, 2025.

So, why did Tribe Nine fail so quickly?

Despite its strong visual identity and engaging combat system, the game struggled with a slow content release schedule, offering only one story chapter and a single event within its first three months. This lack of momentum made it difficult to retain players in a competitive live-service market.

Additionally, the game’s design allowed players to build a powerful team from just a single gacha pull, with minimal need for duplicate characters. While this was player-friendly, it undermined the monetization model essential for sustaining a free-to-play title. Ultimately, the gacha economy failed to generate sufficient revenue, leading to the game’s premature closure.

That said, Tribe Nine remains playable until November 27th, 2025. If you’ve been curious about the game, now might be the time to dive in and experience its world before it disappears. You can still download it from the [Google Play Store] and explore its unique Tokyo-based dystopian setting.
