Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Footage Leaks After Game’s Cancellation

by Isaac Feb 07,2025

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Originally announced in 2022 by Splash Damage in collaboration with Hasbro, the co-op game was to feature Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat. Development was largely unseen until cancellation, leaving fans disappointed.

Recently surfaced footage, from a 2020 build, showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and utilizing various weapons. The gameplay style bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but pits Bumblebee against "the Legion," the game's intended alien antagonists.

Despite some unfinished textures, the leaked footage demonstrates a polished game with environmental destruction. A silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal in a ravaged New York City, contacting an ally named Devin. Numerous other leaks, dating back to 2020, further illustrate the game's development before its official announcement and subsequent cancellation. While the game won't be released, the leaks provide a glimpse into Splash Damage's vision for this ambitious, ultimately unfulfilled project.

Summary:

  • Developer: Splash Damage
  • Publisher: Hasbro and Takara Tomy (implied)
  • Genre: Co-op Multiplayer
