Sony Cutting PS4 Games from PlayStation Plus Next Year

Sony is phasing out PlayStation 4 (PS4) games from its PlayStation Plus Essentials and Games Catalog starting January 2026, focusing its efforts on PlayStation 5 (PS5) titles.

This shift, announced alongside February 2025's PlayStation Plus monthly games, means PS4 games will be offered less frequently in the monthly games and Games Catalog. Existing downloads remain unaffected, and Games Catalog titles will stay accessible until their scheduled removal.

Sony's statement emphasizes the ongoing evolution of PlayStation Plus, highlighting continued benefits like exclusive discounts, online multiplayer, and cloud saves. The company's focus on PS5 reflects the growing player base on that platform and their preference for PS5 titles.
