RuneScape celebrated its triumphant return to RuneFest in 2025, marking the first event since 2019! This year's festival brought exciting news for both Old School RuneScape and the mainline RuneScape experience.
Old School RuneScape players were treated to a massive update, including the highly anticipated introduction of Sailing, a brand new skill featuring a variety of nautical vessels. Experienced players will also face a challenging new endgame boss, Yama, and enjoy a visual enhancement with a new HD upgrade that retains the game's classic low-poly charm.
Beyond these core features, RuneFest 2025 unveiled Project Zanaris, a new modding platform for Old School RuneScape, with playtest sign-ups now open. This promises a new level of player-driven content creation.
Meanwhile, the mainline RuneScape game received its own significant updates. The popular Leagues mode has been fully integrated, offering players fresh challenges and rewards. Furthermore, players can explore the captivating new region of Havenhythe, battling deadly Vampyres, tackling new bosses, and engaging in diverse skilling activities and quests. Havenhythe promises endless hours of gameplay leading into 2026.
