Supercell, the Finnish game developer, has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they've revealed a new project: Project R.I.S.E. This isn't simply a revival, but a complete reimagining.
Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. However, its core concept is being reborn as Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite within the Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre, who confirmed the closure of Clash Heroes, but highlighted Project R.I.S.E.'s multiplayer action RPG focus.
For a comprehensive overview, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares DNA with Clash Heroes, but is a completely new game. Players will team up in three-person squads to ascend The Tower, a procedurally generated structure with unique challenges on each floor. Unlike the primarily PvE experience of Clash Heroes, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay with a diverse roster of characters.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
