Jon Bernthal's Punisher is set for a triumphant return in a Marvel special, following the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. This standalone adventure, described as a "shotgun blast of a story," will be a Guardians of the Galaxy-esque production, blending action with emotional depth. Bernthal himself will contribute to the project as a writer, collaborating with We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green. The Punisher's one-shot special arrives as Marvel Television prepares the Defenders' return to Disney+. Winderbaum acknowledges the creative challenges of adapting comic book narratives for television, but expresses excitement about exploring the possibilities within the established framework.
