The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first international PUBG Mobile Esports event of the year. With over 90,000 competitors registered, the Open Qualifiers started on February 13th, providing a golden opportunity for new talent to showcase their skills and vie for a coveted spot in the PMGO Main Event.
A staggering $500,000 prize pool awaits the winners, setting the stage for intense competition across multiple rounds. Notably, this tournament is exclusively for amateurs, ensuring that fresh faces get a chance to shine on the global stage.
Teams that boast at least one player ranked in the Ultimate 500 from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already secured their place in Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, up-and-coming squads will battle fiercely to earn a spot in the PMGO Prelims, where they will go head-to-head with top teams from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
From the Prelims, twelve teams will advance to the PMGO Main Event, where they'll face off against PUBG Mobile's elite professionals. Four professional teams—Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage—have already earned their spots based on their performances at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024. They will be joined by four more teams from regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers will continue until March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th, and culminating in the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament is just the beginning of an exciting year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the PMGC slated to return later in 2025.
