Project VK: A Fan-Made Successor Rises from the Ashes of Project KV

Following the swift cancellation of Project KV, a dedicated community has launched Project VK, a non-profit fan-made game. This initiative, spearheaded by Studio Vikundi, emerged on September 8th, the very day Project KV was shut down.

Studio Vikundi's statement on Twitter (X) acknowledged Project KV's influence while emphasizing their commitment to independent development. They clarified that Project VK is a completely original creation, unrelated to Blue Archive or Project KV, and pledged to maintain professional conduct, contrasting with the controversies surrounding its predecessor.

Project KV's cancellation stemmed from significant online criticism regarding its close resemblance to Blue Archive, a game some of its developers previously worked on at Nexon Games. Accusations of plagiarism targeted various aspects, including art style, music, and the core concept—a city inhabited by armed female students. Only a week after its second teaser, Dynamis One, the studio behind Project KV, announced its cancellation and apologized for the resulting controversy. Project VK stands as a testament to the passion and resilience of the gaming community, showcasing their ability to create and deliver on their own vision in the face of disappointment.
