The Pokémon Company has formally acknowledged widespread supply issues affecting recent Pokémon Trading Card Game releases. In an official statement, the company confirmed upcoming reprints and emphasized ongoing efforts to improve product distribution for fans.
The launch of the latest expansion, Destined Rivals, encountered multiple challenges including severe shortages, pre-order fulfillment problems, and rampant scalping activity. Other highly sought-after recent sets like Prismatic Evolutions and the Blooming Waters collection have similarly faced overwhelming demand and limited availability.

In an official blog post, The Pokémon Company recognized that many collectors are "facing challenges obtaining certain Pokémon TCG products due to unprecedented demand exceeding current stock levels."
"We recognize how frustrating this situation is for our community, and we're currently prioritizing maximum production capacity to reprint affected Pokémon TCG products as efficiently as possible," the statement continued. "Restocked items should begin reaching authorized retailers in the near future."
The company also outlined future production strategy changes, including scaling up manufacturing for upcoming TCG expansions to improve initial availability. They committed to ongoing reprint initiatives to maintain inventory, including direct-to-consumer restocks through the Pokémon Center online store.
While not directly mentioning scalpers, The Pokémon Company did reference anti-resale measures: "For Pokémon Center exclusives, we're dedicated to optimizing the purchasing process through technological solutions that prioritize genuine fans." Currently, the store implements virtual waiting rooms during high-traffic product launches.
"We remain committed to exploring additional improvements to enhance the Pokémon Center shopping experience," the announcement concluded. "We sincerely appreciate our community's continued support as we work to meet the incredible demand for Pokémon TCG products."
This statement signals potential improvements that could alleviate some of the frustration surrounding new Pokémon TCG releases. Both collectors and players hope these promises translate into meaningful changes for future set launches.
