Peacemaker S2 Trailer Reveals Superman Link, New Cast

Max has unveiled the official trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, immediately establishing deeper ties to the Superman mythology with appearances from Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner in the opening scene.

The trailer introduces Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl conducting what appears to be a disastrous audition for John Cena's Peacemaker to join their superhero team. The tense confrontation concludes with a visibly frustrated Peacemaker storming out.

Peacemaker Season 2 premieres August 21, following the July 11 release of Superman - the third installment in the new DC Universe after last year's Creature Commandos animated series launched the franchise.

This rebooted cinematic universe from James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran represents a fresh start from the controversial DC Extended Universe (home to Justice League and Batman v Superman), though selected elements will carry forward.

Peacemaker exemplifies this transitional approach - Season 1 debuted within the old DCEU framework, while Season 2 emerges fully within the new DCU continuity.

Gunn has confirmed "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," though specific carryover elements remain undefined.
