Nintendo Switch EShop Welcomes Back Square Enix RPG

Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop

RPG enthusiasts can celebrate! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed Square Enix title, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a temporary removal. This follows a short period where the game was unavailable for purchase.

The game's return is welcome news for fans of tactical RPGs. Triangle Strategy, praised for its classic tactical gameplay reminiscent of titles like Fire Emblem, had previously been delisted from the eShop. The reason for the delisting remains unconfirmed, though speculation points to Square Enix's recent acquisition of the game's publishing rights from Nintendo.

This isn't the first time a Square Enix title has experienced a brief eShop absence. Octopath Traveler faced a similar situation last year, but Triangle Strategy's return was significantly faster, lasting only four days compared to Octopath Traveler's several-week hiatus.

The game's reappearance underscores the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. This partnership is evident in past releases, including the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series' initial Switch exclusivity and the original release of Dragon Quest 11 on the Switch. While Square Enix's games often appear on multiple platforms, the company maintains a history of releasing console exclusives, as seen with the PlayStation 5 exclusive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The availability of Triangle Strategy on the Nintendo Switch eShop is sure to please fans and further highlights the ongoing collaboration between Square Enix and Nintendo.
