Latest Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors: Official Statement Released

Nintendo Responds to Switch 2 Leaks from CES 2025

Following a series of Nintendo Switch 2 leaks originating from CES 2025, Nintendo has issued an official statement. The company confirmed that the images circulating online are not official, citing their non-participation in this year's CES. While this statement is seemingly obvious, it's a rare public response from Nintendo regarding product leaks.

The Switch 2 has been the subject of numerous leaks since late 2024, coinciding with reports of the console entering mass production. Accessory manufacturer Genki displayed a purported Switch 2 replica at CES 2025, generating significant online buzz.

In response to an inquiry from the Sankei Shimbun, Nintendo clarified that the images and videos of Genki's replica are unofficial due to their absence from the event.

Genki's Replica: Accurate or Not?

Nintendo offered no comment on the accuracy of Genki's replica. However, its design aligns with previous leaks and rumors, suggesting potential validity. The replica is reportedly slightly larger than the original Switch and features a notable addition: a new button, resembling the Joy-Con's capture button, located below the home button and labeled "C." Its function remains unknown.

Genki CEO Eddie Tsai, while unable to clarify the "C" button's purpose, shared additional details. He indicated that the Switch 2's Joy-Cons will utilize magnetic attachments instead of sliding rails and may function as mouse controls, corroborating previous reports.

Nintendo's Timeline and Pricing

Nintendo previously stated that the Switch successor would be revealed during fiscal year 2024 (ending March 31, 2025). With approximately 80 days remaining, anticipation remains high. A retail launch is not expected before the second quarter of 2025, with a rumored price point of around $399.
