The return of legendary skins to the Fortnite Item Shop is always unpredictable. Some, like Kratos, have been absent for years, but Master Chief's reappearance is a recent event. After a nearly 1,000-day absence (last seen June 3, 2022), the Halo hero made a surprise comeback on December 23, 2024.

How to Get Master Chief in Fortnite

1,500 V-Bucks

Available from December 23rd, 7 PM ET, in the Fortnite Item Shop, Master Chief is priced at 1,500 V-Bucks. This purchase includes the iconic Halo Infinite armor and the free Battle Legend Back Bling. While a LEGO style isn't currently available, additional Halo-themed items are offered within the Master Chief Bundle or as separate purchases:

How to Get the Matte Black Master Chief in Fortnite

Epic Games confirmed on X (formerly Twitter), via the official Fortnite Status account, that the Matte Black Master Chief style remains obtainable. To unlock it, simply purchase the Master Chief outfit and then play one Fortnite Battle Royale match on an Xbox Series X|S.

Previous statements suggesting the Matte Black style was unavailable for post-December 2024 purchases have been retracted. This means players can still acquire this additional style.
