Marvel Rivals is delighting fans with a special crossover event, introducing the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a brand-new skin.
The news was officially confirmed by PlayStation via a post on X/Twitter, offering the first glimpse of how NetEase Games has reinterpreted this iconic gaming outfit for its fast-paced hero shooter.
Originally introduced in Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man, the sleek and tech-forward Advanced Suit 2.0 quickly became a fan favorite—appearing across all three installments of the acclaimed series. Its standout feature, the signature white spider emblem, continues to capture attention. Now, it’s making its way into Marvel Rivals, marking an exciting collaboration between Sony and Marvel Games. Players can expect the suit to appear in the in-game store starting January 30—the same day that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes to PC, expanding the web-slinging experience even further.
Since its launch in December, Marvel Rivals has already offered a wide variety of unlockable suits. However, this new addition brings something truly special to the roster. Beyond its strong ties to the popular PlayStation-exclusive franchise, the Advanced Suit 2.0 will be worn by none other than Yuri Lowenthal—the longtime voice of Peter Parker in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Having voiced Spidey in all three entries, Lowenthal also lends his talents to Marvel Rivals, ensuring a familiar and authentic performance. For players who pick up the suit on January 30, it’ll feel like stepping right back into the action-packed world of New York City—webbing, swinging, and battling enemies just like in the games.
NetEase’s decision to bring this suit into the game aligns with the ongoing momentum of Marvel Rivals. The release coincides with Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, which launched last week and brought a host of new content. Among the additions are two new playable heroes—Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman—with The Thing and Human Torch set to arrive soon. According to creative director Guangyun Chen, players can expect even more characters to join the fray regularly, with at least one new hero launching every month and a half.
While we gear up for the arrival of the Advanced Suit 2.0, there’s plenty to explore in the game already. You can check out custom skins modded into the game by creative players, read about the latest balance changes introduced in Season 1, or learn how some players are using Invisible Woman’s abilities to detect potential bot users.
