New Team-Up Skills and Changes

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Marvel Rivals' Game Director, Guangyun Chen, has revealed significant changes to team-up skills in an interview with PC Gamer on March 14. Chen shared insights on the upcoming Season 2 update, stating, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season."

Currently, the game features 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela with either Loki or Thor, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow. With the game's growing roster, it will be fascinating to see how NetEase balances these heroes to ensure a fair and engaging gameplay experience.

Balancing Heroes

Chen further explained the approach to balancing heroes in Marvel Rivals as the game expands its character lineup. He said, "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes. For example, in Quick Match and Competitive Modes, we will analyze data such as win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows for heroes at various ranks and in different tournaments. This data serves as the foundation for our balancing efforts."

He added, "At the same time, we will analyze the composition of hero lineups and their win rates within the aforementioned modes, which will be crucial references for our overall balancing direction. Finally, we will pay close attention to the player community as one of the bases for our balancing decisions."

Chen also mentioned in a previous interview with Metro in January that Marvel Rivals plans to introduce a new hero every half-season. With each season lasting approximately three months, the game is set to add eight new heroes annually. As the roster expands, the challenge of balancing the game becomes increasingly complex.

Moreover, Chen confirmed that the content for Season 2 is complete and ready to launch, with designs for Seasons 3 and 4 already finalized and in development. This aligns with NetEase's commitment to supporting Marvel Rivals for at least 10 years, promising continuous updates and enhancements.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Coming on March 20

NetEase announced via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18 that new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man will be available on March 20 at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21 at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man's new skin, dubbed "Spider-Punk 2099," features a futuristic digital mask, a spiked mohawk, and an electric guitar. Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin embraces a steampunk style with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace on his torso.

These skins, which were initially showcased during the game's closed beta, have been highly anticipated by fans. Following the release of Loki's Presidential attire from the beta, the introduction of these new skins adds to the excitement. Although the release dates have been confirmed, the prices for these skins remain undisclosed.

As Marvel Rivals wraps up Season 1, the anticipation for Season 2 grows with the promise of more updates and changes. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay updated with the latest news on Marvel Rivals by checking out our dedicated article below!
