Marvel Rivals is launching a major Spring Festival event this Thursday! Players can snag a free Star-Lord costume and jump into a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. This 3v3 mode challenges teams to score a ball in their opponents' net.
While the gameplay might evoke comparisons to Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball – a similarly ball-based mode. This comparison is intriguing, as Marvel Rivals is currently outperforming Overwatch and needs unique content to establish its own identity. Ironically, its first large-scale event features a mode strikingly similar to Overwatch's inaugural event. The key difference lies in the thematic presentation: Overwatch's event had an Olympic Games theme, while Marvel Rivals' event embraces a vibrant Chinese New Year atmosphere.
