Activist groups have targeted Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 following the discovery of subpoenas within the game, sparking a campaign to cancel the project.
The controversy gained traction after online discussions highlighted KCD 2's ban in Saudi Arabia, fueling speculation about its content and alleged "progressive" themes. This led to a wave of attacks on the developers across social media platforms, with attempts to discourage players from supporting the game and its creators.
Warhorse Studios' PR manager, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, responded to the allegations, urging the public to trust the developers and to critically evaluate online information.
Stolz-Zwilling confirmed that review codes would be distributed in the coming days, following the game's achievement of gold status in early December. These codes are anticipated to be released four weeks prior to launch, allowing streamers and reviewers ample time to prepare their content.
Interestingly, initial "final previews," based on portions of the review build, are expected to surface just a week after the review codes are distributed.
