Before the survivor-like genre captivated us, the term "bullet heaven" seemed like a misnomer. It was all about "bullet hell," dodging countless projectiles as they tried to knock you out of the sky. Now, developer Hexadrive is set to bring the retro vibes of the classic bullet hell genre to mobile with their new release, Infinity Bullets.
Scheduled for a summer 2025 release, Infinity Bullets promises a 90s-inspired arcade vibe, blending the original bullet hell and heaven genres. In this game, you'll take on the role of a pixelated commando, side-scrolling through space and blasting away hordes of enemies. As you progress, you'll face enormous bosses and upgrade your arsenal to truly impressive levels.
Adding to the excitement, Infinity Bullets offers multiple characters, each with their own distinctive weapons and abilities. From space-suit wearing warriors to cyborg ninjas and Egyptian sorcerers, the variety ensures a diverse and engaging gameplay experience. While realism might not be the focus, fun certainly is.
Safety off
For older arcade enthusiasts, Infinity Bullets is set to deliver the familiar thrill of space-based blasting. Meanwhile, for younger players or newcomers to the genre, it could serve as an entry-level introduction to the survivors niche with a fresh twist. As a free-to-play game, albeit ad-supported, there's minimal risk in giving it a try.
If you're still skeptical, remember that Infinity Bullets is still a while away. In the meantime, if you're curious about the genre, why not explore our list of the best mobile games like Vampire Survivors to discover our top picks of bullet heaven releases!
