League of Legends Hextech Chest Brought Back After Fan Feedback

League of Legends is responding to fan feedback by bringing back Hextech Chests. Dive into this article to discover what's on the horizon for LoL with the latest updates.

League of Legends Reverses Unpopular Changes

Hextech Chests Make a Comeback

League of Legends (LoL) is set to reintroduce Hextech Chests following overwhelming fan feedback. Riot Games shared a detailed developer update on their website on February 27, 2025, and complemented it with a video on their YouTube channel.

LoL recognized that their recent alterations fell short of fan expectations, stating, "Recently, we’ve made changes that didn’t resonate with everyone. We’ve listened to your feedback, and it’s clear we need to make some adjustments."

The community's demand for Hextech Chests was particularly strong, with LoL explaining, "It’s evident that for many of you, Hextech Chests were more than just a way to acquire items; they made your time in League feel rewarding. We underestimated their importance to you, leading to changes that missed the mark."

Starting with patch 25.05, Hextech Chests will return, allowing players to earn up to 10 chests and keys per act. Eight of these will be available through the free pass, with the remaining two obtainable via the Honor system.

Exalted Mordekaiser Delayed and More Adjustments Based on Fan Feedback

Riot Games also announced the delay of the upcoming Exalted Mordekaiser skin, stating the need for "more time to ensure it truly embodies its core fantasy." Consequently, the entire Exalted skin line will see delays, meaning fans won't see a new skin every Act as initially planned.

Responding to further feedback, LoL plans to replace one of the non-Prestige skins with 25 Mythic Essence, acknowledging "clear feedback about the lack of Mythic Essence in the paid Pass and the saturation of champions per seasonal theme."

LoL is also making champions more accessible by reducing the Blue Essence cost by 50% starting with patch 25.05, in response to discussions about blue essence and champion shards.

Additionally, LoL is reversing a decision to run Clash less frequently, reverting to a monthly schedule. March’s Clash event will feature ARURF, followed by a regular Summoner's Rift Clash in April.

Blue Essence Emporium and Your Shop Return

In response to fan requests, LoL is bringing back popular features like Your Shop and the Blue Essence Emporium. Your Shop will make its first appearance of the year in patch 25.06, followed by the Emporium in 25.07.

Riot Games emphasized, "Improving League isn’t about one set of changes; it's about ongoing refinement and enhancement to better the game. We believe these updates are a significant step forward, and we'll continue to monitor their impact, engage with the community, and make further adjustments as needed."

With these updates, Riot Games demonstrates a commitment to listening and adapting to player feedback to enhance the League of Legends experience. The game remains free-to-play on PC. Stay updated with the latest LoL news by visiting our dedicated League of Legends page.
