Hearthstone Unveils Revamped Battlegrounds in Season 9

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9: Cosmic Overhaul Arrives December 3rd!

Get ready for a celestial shake-up! Hearthstone's Battlegrounds Season 9 launches December 3rd, bringing a universe of changes to the Tavern. Expect a revamped minion lineup, flashy new tech, and a cosmic theme that's out of this world.

Key Changes:

  • Bob's Technotavern Upgrade: Prepare for a complete overhaul! Season 9 resets ratings and bids farewell to Trinkets. In their place? Battlegrounds Tokens! Use these at the hero selection screen to re-roll a hero option if you're unhappy with your choices.

  • Minion Reveal Schedule: The new season's minion additions and removals are being revealed in stages:

    • November 20: Naga and Dragon reveals.
    • November 21: Quilboar and Beast reveals.
    • November 22: Pirate and Duos-only reveals.
    • November 25: Murloc and Demon reveals.
    • November 26: Elemental and Undead reveals.
    • December 2: Preview event streams and 31.2 patch notes.
  • New Heroes: Three brand-new heroes are joining the fray, with Farseer Nobundo already generating considerable excitement with his Galaxy's Lens ability.

  • Minion Pool Refresh: Nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are entering or leaving the pool, significantly impacting gameplay strategies.

  • Damage Cap Adjustment (Solo Mode): Solo Battlegrounds games will see an adjusted early-game damage cap: 5 damage on early turns, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. This cap is removed once you reach the top 4.

  • Phased Minion Release: The new minions will be added in phases:

    • December 3: Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs.
    • December 5: Murlocs and Demons.
    • December 9: Undead and Elementals.
