Guide: Completing Canker Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

by Christian Apr 19,2025

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the "Canker" side quest is a thrilling opportunity to pick up a mace or some extra Groschen early in the game. To unlock "Canker," you'll need to have completed "The Jaunt" first. Here’s how to navigate through the quest and ensure you come out on top.

To initiate the "Canker" quest, you'll need to have a chat with Gules at Semine. This quest can easily be picked up during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes; just speak to Gules while he's enjoying his drink beforehand. However, if you're eager to start earlier, you can find Gules on patrol at Semine. Strike up a conversation about his former bandit comrades and volunteer to help him clear them out. Canker, one of those former bandits, becomes your first target.

Find and Kill Canker

Once you've accepted the quest, Canker's location will appear on your map, just north of Nebakov Mill. Be cautious as you travel; the path is notorious for bandit ambushes. You can choose to sneak past, engage in combat, or make a run for it. Although these random bandits aren't too tough, it's wise to avoid unnecessary skirmishes before facing Canker.

Canker's camp is nestled in the mountains and can be tricky to find. You'll need to navigate through a small gap, similar to the approach to the Hermit's house in the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Gear up for battle before entering, as you'll be confronted by Canker and his gang of bandits. While some might flee depending on your strategy, you'll need to eliminate most of them. Rest assured, Canker won’t escape, ensuring you can fulfill your quest objective.

Finish the Quest and Return to Gules

After defeating Canker and his crew, loot his body to find the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your victory. Feel free to take any other valuables you find. With the mace in hand, head back to Gules to wrap up the quest.

Upon completing "Canker" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can embark on the next adventure involving Gules' former bandit associates. Once the day has passed, speak to Gules again to start the "Handsome Charlie" quest.
