Nintendo announces two beloved GBA racing classics from the F-Zero franchise for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers!

The Game Boy Advance racing classics F-Zero: GP Legend and the previously Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax will accelerate onto Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack starting October 11.
Nintendo's pioneering futuristic racing series F-Zero first sped onto the scene in Japan over thirty years ago in 1990. The franchise gained acclaim for pushing technical boundaries, becoming renowned as one of the fastest racing games of its era on platforms like the SNES.
Much like Mario Kart, F-Zero challenges players to navigate treacherous tracks while battling opponents in high-speed hover vehicles called "F-Zero machines." The series' iconic protagonist Captain Falcon remains a staple fighter in Super Smash Bros.
F-Zero: GP Legend debuted in Japan during 2003 before reaching Western audiences in 2004. Meanwhile, F-Zero Climax remained a Japanese exclusive since its 2004 release - marking the franchise's final major installment until last year's F-Zero 99 revived the series. In interviews, F-Zero designer Takaya Imamura explained Mario Kart's overwhelming popularity contributed to the franchise's nearly 20-year hiatus.
Through October's Switch Online update, subscribers can experience both classics across multiple game modes including Grand Prix races, story campaigns, and time trials.
