Forza Horizon 5, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, is making its way to PlayStation!
Playground Games' surprise announcement confirms the arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 this spring. This follows other Xbox exclusives like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in making the jump to PlayStation.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast identical content to its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure.
This strategic move reflects Xbox's growing interest in expanding its game reach beyond its own consoles. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has publicly voiced support for the Nintendo Switch 2, further emphasizing this cross-platform ambition.
Recent financial reports reveal a 30% decline in console sales, alongside a 2% increase in services revenue driven by a 30% growth in PC Game Pass subscriptions and 4 million players for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This data may be influencing Xbox's shift towards prioritizing Game Pass and wider platform availability.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the open-world racing legacy of the series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 invites players to race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. Read our complete review here.
