The developers of the upcoming life simulation game, inZOI, addressed fan inquiries regarding intimate interactions. The response from the assistant director, while avoiding explicit language, was sufficiently ambiguous to leave players uncertain about the game's depiction of such activities.
Essentially, the implication is that romantic partners may engage in activities leading to procreation, but the visual representation is left to the player's interpretation.
The developers' statement suggests intimacy is present, but not in the manner many anticipated.
Currently, it remains unclear whether inZOI will employ censorship similar to The Sims series or utilize a novel approach.
The developers also explained the decision to depict ZOIs showering in towels rather than with pixelated censorship. They cited two reasons: this method is more suitable for the game's cartoonish art style, as pixelation in a realistic style can appear overly sexualized; and a technical bug prevented pixelated censorship from correctly reflecting in mirrors.
The game's rating provides further context: an ESRB rating of T (Teen) and an anticipated PEGI rating of 12 align with The Sims 4's ratings, offering a clue to the level of content included.
