EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes

EA Vancouver has dropped a new update for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Patch 1.18 introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.

Following October 2023's launch and initial roster criticism, EA Vancouver continues to enhance UFC 5. The game now boasts 98% parity with the current UFC top ten rankings, thanks to consistent content updates. This commitment to expanding the roster is evident with the addition of Murzakanov, a Light Heavyweight with impressive stats (97 power punch, 95 accuracy, 94 ground striking). The update also adds three new fighter alter egos, though their identities remain undisclosed.

Beyond the roster additions, Patch 1.18 includes gameplay adjustments (reducing the muscle modifier stamina cost) and bug fixes. These fixes address incorrect translations, a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang issue, and outdated portraits.

This update coincides with EA Sports UFC 5's arrival on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play, starting January 14th. While other titles join the standard tier, UFC 5 will be exclusive to the Ultimate tier.

• Updated Stipe and Jones portraits in AE UFC 309 to reflect their updated gloves.
