The highly anticipated survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, is set to launch on PC May 20th, capitalizing on the recent success of Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed film adaptations. Developer Funcom has announced the release date, and a new gameplay trailer offers a tantalizing glimpse of what awaits players.
The trailer showcases the game's key features: the harsh Arrakis desert landscape, extensive base-building mechanics, thrilling combat sequences, and the iconic sandworms—all essential elements of the Dune universe.
Players will take on the role of a prisoner on Arrakis, beginning their journey with an escape from captivity. Their quest? To unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the Fremen.
To ensure a smooth launch, Funcom has proactively released a benchmark tool and a character creator. This allows players to optimize their PC settings and design their characters ahead of time, minimizing launch-day delays and maximizing playtime.
