Nvidia Unveils New Doom: The Dark Ages Gameplay
Nvidia's latest showcase featured a brief but exciting glimpse of Doom: The Dark Ages, the highly anticipated next installment in the iconic FPS franchise. The 12-second teaser highlights the game's diverse environments and showcases the return of the legendary Doom Slayer, sporting a new shield.
Scheduled for release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC in 2025, Doom: The Dark Ages promises a visual spectacle. Nvidia confirmed the game will utilize the latest idTech engine and feature DLSS 4 enhancement, along with ray reconstruction on the new RTX 50 series. The footage revealed varied locales, from opulent corridors to barren landscapes, hinting at a richly detailed world.
Building upon the success of the 2016 Doom reboot, Doom: The Dark Ages will retain the series' signature brutal combat, while significantly upgrading the visual presentation of its environments. While the teaser doesn't show gameplay, the diverse locations and the glimpse of the Doom Slayer with his updated equipment suggest an intense and visually stunning experience.

The showcase serves as a prelude to the launch of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series, promising further advancements in visual fidelity and performance for future game releases.
While a precise release date remains unannounced, Doom: The Dark Ages is slated to arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC sometime in 2025. Further details regarding the game's narrative, enemies, and combat mechanics are expected in the coming months.
