NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one stands out for fans of Square Enix: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, accessible during your first playthrough.

Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not during the game's opening sequence. You'll need to progress to a later point in the game as 2B. Alternatively, using Chapter Select and jumping to Chapter 9 provides quicker access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point room, take the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. After crossing the press-laden belt, climb to a cylindrical area with spider-like enemies.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while avoiding descending exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends. Moving forward adjusts the camera angle, initiating another 2D platforming section. Follow the path along the presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.

Note: Exploding enemies will attack from the ceiling as you approach the chests.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 attacks (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, providing more predictable damage output.
