Yetuga marks your first boss encounter in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, and it's far from a walk in the park. After getting to grips with the game's combat mechanics, you'll need to employ every trick in the book to emerge victorious. Yetuga, an aggressive adversary, doesn't shy away from frenzied attacks when you invade its territory, particularly at the end of the Mount Heinmach level. Like other formidable beasts in the game, Yetuga unleashes both long and short-range attacks, including a menacing leaping slam.
Your strategy will hinge on your preferred playstyle, but mastering dodges and parries will be crucial to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:
As you battle, you'll quickly learn Yetuga's attack patterns. Seize moments between its strikes to land your own hits. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, not only helps you avoid damage but also inflicts significant Stamina damage on Yetuga. Leverage its aggressive nature by dodging its charge and letting it crash into a wall, creating a brief window to attack. This is your chance to break the ice spikes on its back, significantly weakening its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, you can parry all attacks except the grab, conserving your Stamina. Maintain relentless pressure to transition Yetuga to its next stage. Upon seeing it roar and power up, keep your distance. Yetuga will then wield a giant rock to smash at you; dodge or parry at the perfect moment to avoid damage. Watch out for its frost breath that spawns ice spikes—either evade or parry this when it reaches you. Exploit opportunities to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga tires, unleash a Brutal Attack for major damage. Keep this up, and Yetuga will soon fall.
Victory over Yetuga rewards you with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
That's all you need to know to defeat Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For more tips and strategies, visit The Escapist.
