Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable opponent.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. Access is initially limited; a readily available entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Utilize wall-scaling or the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer Board Game: A Strategic Advantage

The Lifer stands beside a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create three-in-a-row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. Exiting preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before debuffing, as the Lifer immediately attacks.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):

• Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2s of inactivity.
• Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and escalating DMG.
• Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase on DMG dealt.
• Decay of Time: Increased elemental resistances and Max HP.

Permanent Buffs:

• Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
• Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
• Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant DMG.

Obtaining Stakes of Imbalance:

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates in those directions. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). Challenges may include defeating Tacet Discords or breaking Friable Rocks.

Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff (purple lines turn yellow).

Defeating the Lifer

With all four removable buffs gone, engage the Lifer. The battle is significantly easier; its attacks pose minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer:

• First victory: Premium Supply Chest
• Second victory: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests
• Third victory: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests

Re-enable buffs via the modules for a greater challenge (no achievement rewards).

Achievements:

• The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
• The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
• Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
• Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.
