The Blood of Dawnwalker, new RPG from CD Projekt RED veterans, revealed

Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a comprehensive livestream. The stream featured a captivating four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening narrative sequence.

Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. He's tasked with a perilous mission: rescuing his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day timeframe. While time progresses only during specific gameplay segments, strategic time management is crucial.

Coen will grapple with profound moral choices, facing the constant pressure to maintain his humanity while battling his burgeoning vampiric nature. This internal conflict significantly impacts both gameplay mechanics and the overarching narrative. A key mechanic, "Blood Hunger," forces players to carefully manage Coen's blood intake; prolonged abstinence risks a loss of control, potentially resulting in the accidental death of key characters and unforeseen story ramifications.

Players can explore richly detailed environments, with dynamic elements influenced by the time of day. The developers characterize the open world as a "narrative sandbox," providing extensive opportunities for player agency and interaction.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date has yet to be announced.
