Baldur's Gate 3 Unauthorized Port Detected on Mobile App Store

A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a simulated mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a substantial $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.

The scam app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and attributed to developer "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios or the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, raising immediate red flags. While visually convincing to some, the absence of these key details should serve as a clear warning sign.

Data Security Concerns:

Beyond the financial deception, the app's terms of service raise serious concerns about data privacy. It explicitly states the app collects user IP addresses and potentially other personal information. This underscores the importance of exercising caution when downloading seemingly free applications.

This isn't the first instance of a Baldur's Gate 3 imitation appearing on app stores, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance. Currently, no similar fraudulent apps have been reported on the Android store.

Official Alternatives:

Larian Studios hasn't announced plans for an official Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port. However, earlier installments in the series, Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2, are available on mobile platforms. Alternatively, Baldur's Gate 3 can be streamed through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Users who have downloaded the counterfeit Baldur's Gate 3 app are strongly advised to uninstall it immediately to mitigate potential data breaches and financial losses. Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is.
