Mastering Assists in Marvel Rivals: A Guide to Support and Challenge Completion
Many Marvel Rivals players focus on securing kills, but some challenges require racking up assists. This guide explains how to earn assists and highlights the best characters for the task.
Understanding Assists in Marvel Rivals
The in-game stats screen displays kills, deaths, and assists. Unlike many games, dealing damage in Marvel Rivals doesn't contribute to assists. Assists are earned solely through supporting teammates: healing, shielding, or incapacitating enemies to enable allies to finish them off.
This makes healers and tanks ideal for maximizing assists. If you primarily play damage-dealing characters, consider switching to support roles for challenge completion.
Top Characters for Assists
Here are some standout characters for securing assists:
Jeff the Land Shark: While not the strongest strategist, Jeff's healing abilities provide ample opportunities for teammate assists.
Mantis: The premier support character. Her healing and enemy incapacitation (Spore Slumber) create perfect assist setups. The challenge lies in securing her early in matches.
Peni Parker: A strong tank option. Her Cyber-Web Snare immobilizes enemies, making them easy targets for damage-focused allies.
Doctor Strange: Another excellent tank. His powerful shield keeps teammates alive, allowing them to secure the kills.
Storm: The top Duelist for assists. Her Weather Control enhances ally damage and speed, leading to quick enemy eliminations and assist accumulation.
This guide covers how to earn assists and the best characters to use in Marvel Rivals. For further assistance, check out our guide on Chronoverse Saga Achievements in Season 1.
