Apptoide: Free iOS App Store Launches in EU

Aptoide, the independent app store, is now freely available on iOS for EU users. While it claims to be the first free alternative app store on iOS, the Epic Games Store actually launched first. However, Aptoide may be the first general, third-party storefront.

For years, Apple's tight control over its ecosystem limited iOS users' app store options. But following legal challenges, the landscape began shifting last year. After the Epic Games Store's iOS launch, Aptoide has entered the fray.
