Every Marvel TV Show in the Disney+ Era Ranked

by Stella Mar 14,2025

From the iconic 1970s *Incredible Hulk* series to the popular *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, and the gritty Netflix shows featuring Daredevil and Luke Cage, Marvel Comics has a rich history of inspiring small-screen adaptations. While past attempts to connect live-action TV shows to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sometimes faltered—remember *Runaways* and *Cloak and Dagger*? — 2021 marked a turning point. Marvel Studios launched a new era on Disney+, creating interconnected series deeply interwoven with the blockbuster film franchise.

With the arrival of *Spider-Man: Freshman Year* as the 13th Disney+ Marvel show in just four years, we're taking a look back at the preceding Marvel Studios television series. Like the Avengers sharing shawarma after the Battle of New York, the IGN Marvel experts have ranked all 12 previous Disney+ Marvel shows, aggregating our individual rankings. Stay tuned for the addition of *Spider-Man: Freshman Year* after its conclusion.

12. Secret Invasion

Disney+
It's surprising to rank Secret Invasion so low. Our consensus is that it's the weakest Marvel TV series to date. While the comic book storyline is a pivotal event, the show largely ignores this. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the comics highlights a disconnect. While creative vision can enhance stories, Secret Invasion lacks that spark.

Aiming for the espionage tone of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the series follows Nick Fury battling a Skrull invasion. However, slow pacing, an AI-generated opening, the unfortunate death of a beloved character, and an underwhelming new superhero contribute to its low ranking.

11. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over Secret Invasion, Echo still falls towards the bottom of our rankings. Alaqua Cox reprises her role from Hawkeye, exploring Echo's life on the reservation as she balances her powers, past, and relationship with Kingpin.

A shortened episode count left some viewers wanting more. Despite this, the series features impressive action sequences, including a standout fight with Daredevil. It's also notable for its predominantly Indigenous cast and crew. While not as impactful as other entries, Echo remains a unique and emotionally resonant addition to the MCU.

10. Moon Knight

Disney+
The Oscar Isaac-led Moon Knight might surprise some at this ranking. The series explores Marc Spector's multiple personalities through mystery and action as he battles to maintain his sanity. Its surrealist style blends elements of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Indiana Jones, and Legion.

Like many Marvel shows, it introduces a new hero, Scarlet Scarab, who becomes a standout character. With a strong cast including F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke, Moon Knight unfortunately couldn't reach higher in our rankings.

9. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Despite the potential, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier struggled to take flight. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's chemistry is a highlight, but the series is hampered by ambiguous morality, reliance on the Blip storyline, and a focus on espionage over action.

Initially planned as the first Disney+ Marvel show, production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic shifted its release. The impact of these delays on the final product is uncertain, but its narrative elements are crucial to the current MCU, particularly the Thunderbolts film.
