Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled exciting new details about Anno 1800: Pax Romana in a recently released trailer. While previous announcements highlighted exploration of Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before players embark on the main adventure in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a tranquil region, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek refuge and opportunity in the uncharted territories of Britain (Albion). Albion presents a significant challenge, characterized by a harsh climate, rebellious tribes, and its remoteness from Rome, making governance exceptionally difficult.
Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy and strategic management, rather than relying solely on military force. Respecting local customs and traditions will be key to establishing harmony. A unique feature is the customizable ship design, allowing players to choose between prioritizing speed with additional oarsmen or enhancing firepower with onboard archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
