Note that Nintendo isn't offering any discounts on this title, as it's an older game. You'll be paying full price for the original Switch game, plus an additional $10 for the Switch 2 upgrade. It might feel a bit pricey, but the enhancements are worth considering.
This version of the game includes the original Switch game along with the Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. If you already own the original game for the Switch, you can opt to purchase the upgrade pack separately for just $10, which is a great way to save some money.
If you're a proud owner of Breath of the Wild and also a member of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you're in luck! The upgrade comes at no extra cost, included in your subscription. It's a nice perk amidst the additional costs associated with the new console rollout.
This package includes the full original Switch game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, plus the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack. The upgrade enhances performance with faster frame rates and load times, as well as improved resolution and textures. Simply put, the game looks and runs better on the Nintendo Switch 2 than it ever did on the original Switch.
From our original review of Breath of the Wild: "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a masterclass in open-world design and a watershed game that reinvents a 30-year-old franchise. It presents a wonderful sandbox full of mystery, dangling dozens upon dozens of tantalizing things in front of you that just beg to be explored. I’ve had so many adventures in Breath of the Wild, and each one has a unique story behind what led me to them, making them stories on top of stories. And even after I’ve spent more than 50 hours searching the far reaches of Hyrule, I still manage to come across things I haven’t seen before. I’ll easily spend 50 to 100 more trying to track down its fascinating moments."
